My energetic and endlessly creative 88 year old Mom has been making Puzzle Boards for years, and just recently has started making them with puzzle themed fabric.
These boards are great for holding your dead-tree edition puzzle, or even, dare I say it, your iPad!
She can make them in grid-themed fabric, or in any fabric to match your decor.
Here are a few examples. Most are fabric, some are fleece (those are nice to hold onto on a cold winter's night), and others are coated fabric, for you messy solvers out there.
They are upholstered, slightly padded on the back, nice writing surface on the front.
She is asking $15 - $20 each depending on fabric and trim. She can ship asap, or make one to your specs. Until recently she worked in interior design, so if you want to tell us your color scheme, she can make up a custom one for you! You can even send us the fabric of your choice.
See more puzzle boards here!
(Not all fabrics shown may always be available.)
Ever wonder why a puzzle seems hard to you, easy to your friend? --- Wish you could tag and comment on clues? --- Share and compare with your friends?
Dead tree solving - eco edition!
Best of both worlds - paper and pencil/pen solving, but rather than curled up with the newspaper, you're curled up with your tablet/iPad/Android! Write, even draw, in the grid, directly on the screen.
Perfect for rebus puzzles, like this one from a recent Thursday NYTimes puzzle. Use a stylus, for the feel of really writing, or just use your fingertip - it is remarkably easy and is your real writing... I filled this one out using my finger - the stylus is just there for show. (The rebus was MAN - as in TAXMAN at 54D...) If you would like to try it out, click on "About Me" on this page and send me an email.

ReplyDeleteHi Tita, I'm sorry to make a comment unrelated to this post, but I couldn't find your e-mail address to send you my personal submission to the Epic Wrong Answer Walk of Fame.

Good on your mom for making those puzzle boards, too! Maybe one of my friends will get me one of those as a wedding present later this year.
I can make you a tissue box cover/cosy
ReplyDeletechefbea - I adore those cozies!! Maybe I'll order one for Mom...she loves things others make as much as she likes her own things!! Thanks. I'll email you.
DeleteI have 3 of these boards! Bedroom (made with leftover fabric from my curtains), den (matches the various fabrics)and travel. I love them! Never have to search around for a big book to use as a backing for the puzzle. I recommend them highly and they make great gifts!
